Beware of Protein Bars with Dried Fruit Added

Many protein and healthy food bars include berries and other fruit in them. Unfortunately, many of these come from dried fruit sources and most dried fruits are loaded with sulfite preservatives. That means the entire food bar is compromised. Read the labels carefully and make sure the added fruits are organic if possible. Sulfites are poison, even if you’re not sulfite sensitive.

Healthy Babies Form Healthy Habits

Did you know that babies formulate their food tastes in the first year after birth? If you give your baby sugary, sweet foods and juices in this period, your child will likely crave sweets for the rest of his or her life. Look for juices and baby foods that are not sweet — whether naturally or (especially) artificially.

Aspartame-Free

Most health conscious people are aware of the dangers of aspartame, the artificial sweetener in most diet soft drinks. But what you might not realize is that some products that are not even sugar free contain the stuff — just look on the label the next time you purchase breath mints or chewing gum. It’s a real shame that non-diet products include this poison!

Solar Cleanse for Water

To clean up water that has micro-organisms, bleech or heavy metals in it, simply expose it to the sun for half a day (or a full day if partially cloudy). Put the water into a glass container with no lid and leave it in a safe, dust-free place in the sun. Glass milk containers work very well. According to many studies, the sun’s ultraviolet rays can kill up to 100% of the germs.
