Review: Athletic Greens

review, athletic greensThis is a well-rounded mixture that focuses on greens and fruits with a little flaxseed powder thrown in. Primary greens are spirulina, chlorella, wheatgrass and alfalfa, which provide excellent nutrients and bio-availability. Flaxseed provides Omega fats and bulks-up the mixture. Another bulking ingredient is lecithin, which is made from egg and/or soy. Besides bulking, it also provide viscosity (avoids caking) and some nutrients. Fruits include apple, acerola, papaya, and pineapple. Great choices for sweetness, enzymes and vitamins. Other interesting ingredients include barley leaf powder and veggie powders (beet juice, broccoli flower, spinach leaf). It also contains a mushroom complex (I love to see this).

Overall, this is a carefully planned and executed formula for energy and nutrients while maintaining flavor. The price is excellent at $2.50 per ounce.

  1. There seems to be a miscalculation on the price per ounce. If it is $77 for 12.7oz, then that equals $6.06/oz.

  2. I just wanted to let you know that your math is wrong. If the 12.7oz jar is $77 that puts it at about $6/oz
