Review: Dr. Schulze’s SuperFood Powder
June 22nd, 2008
UPDATED: Dec 2010
Dr. Schulze has been improving his formula and presentation over the years and I have decided to completely re-write this review. First, Schulze has focused his formula on the most important greens (spirulina, grasses and dulse seaweed). After these ingredients, he adds some great veggie powsers (beet and spinach). Some acerola cherry and citrus peel (orange and lemon) provide some essential vitamins. That’s about it. This is still a simple formulation with a focus on what works. And the price is still among the lowest around at only $2.57 per ounce.
Schulze also added a bit of nutritional yeast, which is rich in nutrients, but many people cannot eat it due to bloating and gastric problems. Schulze claims that the yeast in this product is Non-Fermentable, so it avoids these problems. You can try it out and be the judge.
Manufacturer’s Description
“SuperFood Plus is my antidote for modern life. It is a balanced formulation of the most easy-to-assimilate, nutrient-dense microplants, herbs and foods on the planet. Junk food is just that, junk, and heating any food kills the nutrition. Add stress, anxiety, a lack of exercise and a lack of sleep and now you have a recipe for disaster, a health disaster.
My SuperFood Plus is the missing link in most people’s lives. Powerful nutrition protects your body, prevents disease, promotes healing, and keeps you looking and feeling younger. I have never met a person that didn’t need more nutrition.”
Taste
Grassy. Slightly earthy.
Ingredients & Nutritional Facts
Spirulina Algae, Blue-Green Algae, Chlorella Broken-Cell Algae, Barley, Alfalfa & Wheat Grasses, Purple Dulse Seaweed, Beet Root, Spinach Leaf, Acerola Cherry, Rose Hips, Orange & Lemon Peels & Palm Fruit in a base of Dr. Schulze’s Proprietary Non-Fermentable Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Yeast
Pros
Very good value. Strong in grasses and spirulina. Citrus peel is a good addition. Good formula for enhancing with your own added ingredients.
Cons
Horrible taste. Not the most robust of formulas.
Recommended Usage
Two rounded tablespoons of SuperFood Plus, added to your favorite juice or blender drink gives you 2 to 5 of most vitamins you need for the entire day. If you are not used to nutritional drinks, then for the first week use only 1 tablespoon of SuperFood Plus, and then work you way up to 2 tablespoons.

Please is it possible to also make natural food for dogs. In South Africa we are sitting with huge skin allergies which I believe comes from the pet food we are buying. Any good news?

Great Product!
I use it as a pick me up in the afternoon, instead of Caffine, it really does energise you, enables you to focus and keeps you more alert.
I have also used it as a meal replacement as it seems to fill you up and as a drink post illness.
I recently had a tummy bug and had this as a meal replacement for a couple of days until I could take food.
Really recomend it!

I love the taste! Is there anything cheaper that tastes as good? I like it as a seasoning on hotdishes and in soup because I love the taste? But I eat too much of it, so it is too expensive.
